Bruges a Taste of Belgium – Sunday 9 June – Wednesday 12 June 2019

Join our executive coach and enjoy light refreshments as we travel towards Hull to meet the P&O ferry to Zeebrugge.

On board, relax and take in the sea view from the comfortable dining room. Choose to retire to your cabin, or enjoy a drink at the bar. On arrival we take in a tour of the local sights before heading to the Weinebrugge Hotel to check in and enjoy some free time and a relaxing evening. Bruges is the capital and largest city of the province of West Flanders in the Flemish Region of Belgium. Picturesque cobbled lanes canals link market squares lined with soaring towers, historical churches and lanes of old whitewashed almshouses help to create this wonderful fairy-tale medieval town. The next day, we visit the highly absorbing Choco-story chocolate museum. Learn about the history of chocolate and how the cocoa bean can be traced back to its role as an Aztec currency. Sample some of Belgium’s best chocolate as you wander around the museum and watch a demonstration by the Master Chocolatier. Next, we take in a guided tour and tasting session at De Halve Mann Brewery. The Maes family has been brewing beer on the Walplein in Bruges for centuries. The history of the brewery is contained within this unique museum. Choose to enjoy some food overlooking the canals, cosy by the fireplace, look down on to the brewing house or, when the sun is out, on the beautiful terrace. We then travel to Zeebrugge to catch our ferry back to Hull, where the next morning we make our journey back to Fife.
