Join us on our executive coach as we travel to New Lanark Mills, one of Scotland’s six UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Scotland is brimming with myths and legends – and Loch Ness is the biggest of them all. Join us on board our executive coach, sit back, relax and enjoy light refreshments as we travel to the Highlands.
On arrival we meet our tour boat and embark on a one-hour cruise across the loch’s mysterious waters. The on board audio is bursting with fascinating facts and legends to tune into as you sail, don’t forget to look out for Nessie too, with a little help from the boat’s sonar.
We then arrive at Urquhart Castle. Discover 1,000 years of drama, experience a glimpse of medieval life, peer into a miserable prison cell, and imagine the splendid banquets staged in the great hall. Urquhart’s stories are also told through a remarkable collection of artefacts left by its residents, historic replicas, including a full-sized, working trebuchet siege engine.
The castle has a distinctly Highland heritage and the site has witnessed some of the most dramatic chapters in our nation’s history. This is where St Columba is said to have worked miracles in the 6th century, where acts of chivalry and defiance provided inspiration during the wars of Independence and where the MacDonald Lords of the Isles struggled with the Crown for power. We then rejoin our coach at the castle to travel home.
